Playing and Coaching Career:
While at Dakota State University, I distinguished myself as a four-year starter and earned All-Conference honors for four consecutive years. Notably, I secured two Gold Gloves in the catcher position. Over four years, I accepted both player and coaching roles, entrusted by the coaching staff to lead various drills and instruct my peers. Additionally, I served as a manager for my high school's softball team, where I had the opportunity to offer guidance in defensive techniques to close acquaintances. I have amassed six years of coaching experience, culminating in my current venture into private instruction.
Philosophy:
The center of my coaching approach heavily emphasizes defense. While diligently honing offensive skills is essential, I stand by the motto that "defense wins championships." An elite catcher, in particular, can vastly influence the course of a game. I stand by an anonymous quote: "Only certain people notice a great catcher, but everyone notices a bad one." Furthermore, I stay up-to-date on high-level infield and outfield strategies and methodologies.
