Playing and Coaching Career:
Like most of you, I began my baseball career playing for the Longmont Baseball League. I attended Mead High School, played for the HS baseball team, and graduated in 2015. I continued my career after HS at Dakota State University as an infielder, catcher, and pitcher during my first two years, later focusing solely on pitching. In the summer of 2016, after my first year at DSU, I served as a player assistant at Mead High School, later progressing to a varsity assistant at Madison HS (SD). After obtaining my degree, I moved back home and became a private instructor in Longmont and nearby areas. My coaching career includes roles as the head coach for Sioux Falls West and, most recently, as the pitching coach at Flatirons Academy since 2023.
Philosophy:
My coaching philosophy emphasizes finding and improving each player's unique talents and strengths. I prioritize athleticism and adaptability, encouraging players to achieve consistent results through various methods rather than rigid mechanical positions. Additionally, I place significant importance on the game's mental aspects, advocating for a solid, adaptable approach regardless of the player's position on the field.

Career-
I graduated from Longmont High back in the day and took them to a state championship game in football. I also ran track and was #12 in the 100M dash in Colorado and #6 in Colorado for the 4x100M relay.
Since then I played Professional arena football with the Colorado ICE/Crush and Rapid City Marshals in South Dakota for 5 years and also played overseas in Prague Czech Republic.
I mentored under an Olympic athlete and finally decided I wanted to branch off and take what I learned and apply that and mesh it with sprint specific training and strength. I’ve been doing that now for the past 3 years and have developed athletes in college down to elementary school.
Philosophy -
Sprinting is the most ballistic movement the human body can do, and can make your athlete better all around no matter what sport they participate in. I am a firm believer that if you don’t have strong feet and ankles it doesn’t matter how strong you might be. When you run if your ankles or feet can’t take the load capacity you are putting on them you wont operate as efficiently and effectively as you could. I start with a ground up approach and really focus on developing the ankle and foot complex and elasticity in your tendons and ligaments.
I teach proper speed mechanics (acceleration & top speed) and I also focus on lateral movement patterns as you don’t want your athlete to only be fast when running in a straight line as most sports have some type of stop-start or change of direction in them. I have a 4 day a week speed program that your athlete can follow if you so choose as well as an in-season program.
